Mark was born in England and went on to spend his childhood growing up in Africa. He graduated from Swansea University in 1999 with (BA Hons) in general Illustration having previously obtained a BTEC HND in Wildlife Illustration.

Since graduating Mark has been working to establish himself as a freelance artist specialising in natural history and wildlife painting. Some of the main features of his work are subjects being reclaimed by nature, such as old abandoned boats, rusty chains and even door latches! Mark also enjoys painting British and African Wildlife.

Mark exhibits his work at a small selection of galleries including Picture Craft of Holt, Thompsons Gallery of Aldeburgh, and the Holkham Gallery in North Norfolk, he also exhibits regularly in The British Birdwatching Fair at Rutland Water. Several of Marks Paintings have been selected, hung and sold in renowned art competitions, including the Eastern Open and the Parker Harris, Discerning Eye art competition, hung in the Mall Galleries, London. Mark also exhibited at the Great Art Fair inaugural event, held at Alexandra Palace.

Currently based near Norwich, Mark draws inspiration for his latest paintings from the Norfolk and Suffolk coastlines, where he regularly spends time searching for new subjects to paint. .
